Please join us for the 3rd annual Pathway to Law Summit, where faculty and law professionals come together to share ideas and collaborate in order to strengthen the pipeline of diverse students into the legal profession.

Day One: "Identifying and Teaching Effective Lawyering Skills"
Friday, February 23, 2018 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
This professional development workshop aims to raise awareness and provide training to pathway students around lawyering skills needed for the effective and successful practice of law. This session will provide an overview of the landmark study conducted by professors Marjorie Shultz and Sheldon Zedeck identifying "26 Factors for Effective Lawyering." Participants will become aware of the identified skill sets and will learn techniques for teaching these skills to students.
Day Two: "Pathway to Law Summit" and MOU Signing Ceremony
Saturday, February 24, 2018 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
This day will focus on enhancing and supporting the statewide Pathway to Law Program, including panels featuring tips from Community College Presidents; Undergraduate transitions to Law School and Regional Breakouts covering best practices in student recruitment, media and marketing materials, mock trial/debate teams, field trips and keeping track of graduates. The day will include a separate student tour of USF Law School and interaction with the dean, faculty and law students and will end with the MOU Signing Ceremony and Diversity Champion Awards and Scholarship Presentations and Reception.
